Chavala Ymker (they/them) joins the team after serving nine months from 2021-2022 on the farm as the storytelling fellow through the Episcopal Service Corps. They are thrilled to stay on as the Communications and Development Coordinator, growing the online presence of the farm in the West Michigan community and keeping up with donations and bills. As a Grand Valley State University graduate, they have a degree in Integrative Studies with a focus on storytelling and community and are excited to continue developing their passion for stories. Their skills span event coordination to newspaper reporting to dramaturgy. On their own time, Chavala loves writing across multiple genres, dabbling in a multitude of artistic pursuits and discovering new places to enjoy the beauty of nature.
