Quiet Lenten Afternoon

Join us for a quiet, lenten afternoon. Listen to the birds, plant seeds, walk the labyrinth, weave a prayer, linger in the orchard, sketch a bug, let weeding attune your being – stations for prayerful actions will be set up throughout the farm. We will begin with song and prayer and then spend time in quiet reflection and embodied action. We will conclude with a short time of sharing.

In Michigan, the Christian season of Lent and the start of the farming season overlap. Both are times of preparation. On the farm the soil, the space, tools, and even seeds are being prepared to serve the life of the community. In Lent Christians pray, fast, and give of their time and money, so that their lives can be more greatly oriented towards hope and the Giver of Life. Come reflect. Come refresh. Come be with others seeking to ground in hope. No RSVP required.
