For Volunteers

Volunteer at the Farm

Volunteering at Plainsong Farm is about connecting to the earth, your neighbors and God. Though we need extra hands to care for this place and grow healthy food for our neighbors, the volunteer opportunities are holistic experiences.

People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome. No previous experience or knowledge is expected! Supervised children are welcome. No dogs, please (working dogs accepted).

If you plan to come, please register so we know when to expect you! Sign up here.

Mondays: Farm-Based Education
9:30-11:30 a.m.

Mondays will involve working in the field to help meet production goals for getting healthy food to our community partners. Tasks may include weeding, moving compost, irrigating or harvesting and preparing produce.

You'll receive education on the tasks for the day and topics like agriculture, conservation and food systems.

Thursdays: Faith and Food
9:30-11:30 a.m.

On Thursdays, integrate immersive experiences with the land and faith formation practices like meditation or a connection circle. We'll have community building time too, like BYO picnics following fieldwork and bonfires with tea and coffee to cultivate belonging with each other and our world. BYO picnics on 5/11, 6/15, 7/13, 8/17, 9/14.

Saturdays: Weekend Volunteering
9:30-11:30 a.m.
Our monthly Saturday work days will focus on larger field work projects, as well as property and conservation projects (see above for possible tasks). Volunteers will be invited to participate in a brief community building, educational, or meditative experience as we begin our work together.
