Throughout the growing season, people of all ages and backgrounds are welcome as fieldwork volunteers. No previous experience or knowledge is expected! This is a great, hands-on way to learn about agriculture and help create a more resilient and equitable food system.
Fieldwork may include preparing garden beds, weeding, hoeing, moving compost and wood chips, irrigating, trellising tomatoes, seeding, transplanting, and more. Supervised children are welcome. No dogs, please (working dogs accepted).
In the 2021 growing season, open times are every other Tuesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and every other Friday from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. If you plan to come for open volunteer times, please register so we know when to expect you! Sign up here.
Want to volunteer in another way or at another time? Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 616-747-0737 to let us know about your interest and availability!
Think you might be nurtured by simple family friendly worship with a backdrop of bird songs and ripening vegetables? This seasonal Sunday evening gathering includes all ages and denominations. We begin with a short worship service that includes Scripture, live music and a multi-generational shared reflection and conclude with a potluck.
Bring a dish to share and a blanket, chair or whatever you like to sit on. Come bless and be blessed by the land. If we need to cancel due to weather, we will update our Facebook page by noon on Sunday.
